The owner of an animal determined to be dangerous and ordered humanely euthanized pursuant to this chapter shall be prohibited from owning, possessing, controlling or having custody of any other animal of the same type for a period of three years from the date of the determination when it is found at the hearing conducted pursuant to this chapter that ownership or possession of such animal by that person would create a significant threat to public health, safety or welfare.
