It is unlawful for the owner and/or possessor of a dog or cat over four months of age to maintain the dog or cat within the city if such dog or cat has not been vaccinated for rabies by a veterinarian. This requirement shall not apply to any dog or cat which is exempted from the vaccination requirement by the laws of this state. Revaccination shall be made at such intervals of time as may be prescribed by the laws and regulations of this state. (Ord. 2185 NCS §2 (part), 2004.)
