Except for waivers in accordance with Section 8.35.040, waiver of any requirement of this chapter by any employee shall be deemed contrary to public policy, void and unenforceable. Any attempt by an employer to cause employees to waive any of their rights under this chapter shall constitute a violation of this chapter subject to enforcement in accordance with Section 8.35.070.
