It shall be unlawful for any person to refuse to pay the legal fare of any taxicab after having hired the same, and any person who shall hire any taxicab with the intent to defraud the person from whom it is hired shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. (Ord. 2217 NCS §1 (part), 2005.)
