For purposes of this chapter, "taxicab" means a motor vehicle regularly engaged in the business of carrying passengers for hire, having a seating capacity of less than eight persons and not operated on a fixed route, upon a fixed schedule, or for a fixed rate. "Taxicab" shall not include automobiles for hire, limousines, or buses as defined in the Petaluma Municipal Code. (Ord. 2217 NCS §1 (part), 2005.)
