The city shall provide any account with a dedicated irrigation meter(s) a landscape water budget. The water budget will be calculated by the city or its agent by measuring the total irrigated landscaped area and the plant type(s) that exist per water meter. Any account assigned a water budget may not exceed the water budget for that billing period by more than twenty percent during that billing period. Accounts that exceed their water budget by more than twenty percent will be notified by the city. The city will work with the property owner or its authorized representative to ensure corrective actions are taken. Exceeding an account’s water budget by more than twenty percent more than two times in one twelve-month period and/or failure to cooperate with the city in taking corrective action after notification by the city of specific action(s) to be taken shall constitute a violation of this chapter.
