In order to achieve consistent and efficient coordination and enforcement in the administration of this chapter, the planning director, or he/she may delegate some person within his/her department to act in his/her stead, shall have the power and duties set forth below:

A. All duties identified for the zoning administrator as set forth in Section 26-200 of the Petaluma zoning ordinance, including the authority to interpret this chapter to members of the public, to city departments and other branches of city government, including preliminary negotiation with and advice to applicants for administrative approval, subject to the policy of the city council. Said duties shall be carried out in consultation with the director of public works and the city manager.

B. Report regularly to the city manager and city council on the conduct of his/her office including number of applications processed and their resolution.
